Amount
2 g per 200 ml (approx. 1 tsp)
Temperature
75–80 °C (167–176 °F)
Brew Time
1–2 minutes
How to Brew
- 1
Heat fresh, filtered water to 75–80 °C. Avoid boiling as it scorches the leaves.
- 2
Warm your cup or teapot by rinsing it with hot water, then discard the rinse water.
- 3
Add 2 g of loose leaf green tea per 200 ml of water.
- 4
Pour the heated water gently over the leaves.
- 5
Steep for 1–2 minutes. Taste at 1 minute to gauge strength.
- 6
Strain and serve immediately. Re-steep the same leaves 1–2 more times, adding 30 seconds each time.
✨ Flavour Tips
- •Lower temperatures (around 70 °C) bring out sweeter, more umami notes.
- •Try a 30-second flash-steep for an ultra-delicate first infusion.
